How to score well in English Section
One should start with English section, it is wise to read the reading comprehension with fresh mind. Switch to other section within 15 – 20 minutes after you have attempted 15-20 questions from English Section. In SSC CGL Tier II, the most important topics are Para jumbles, Sentence Completion, Sentence Improvement, Idioms and Phrases, One word substitution, wrongly spelt words and Reading Comprehension.
Remember, through this test, SSC wants to check your ability to remember main ideas and significant details of English section. The organisation i.e, SSC does not ask for very high knowledge of english but you must be sure of the usage of the word and how it is used in sentences.
Generally, people will ask from you to mug up all the one word substitutions, Idioms and phrases and vocabulary from the previous year books, but practically its not possible. It’s not possible to mug up lots of knowledge, you must use shortcuts to remember Idioms and Phrases. You should never skip the comprehension part to score good in English Section.
Also, Learn shortcuts or rules for sentence corrections and practice each of them as this topic covers a major section of English language in SSC CGL tier II.
